Dennis Trujillo, Ph.D.

Dennis's path into health technology began with the loss of his father to cancer. The experience revealed how much patients and families are expected to absorb, remember, and coordinate while navigating an already difficult moment.
He founded Sona to apply his background in artificial intelligence and computational science to that human problem: making important care conversations easier to understand and return to when they matter.
Why I built Sona
01 / 01I started Sona after losing my father to cancer. I saw how hard it can be to hold onto every question, answer, and next step when your attention is already pulled in a hundred directions.
Sona is my attempt to give people something I wish more families had: a calm companion that helps keep the conversation close, without trying to replace the people providing their care.
